What are The Back Patio's hours?
The Back Patio is open Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We are open 7 days a week.
Where is The Back Patio located?
The Back Patio is at 3944 NE Cully Blvd, Portland, OR 97213 — just off NE Sandy Blvd at the Cully & Prescott five-way intersection, across from the Albertsons shopping center in Northeast Portland's Cully neighborhood. TriMet line 71 stops steps away.
Is The Back Patio kid friendly?
Yes — The Back Patio is kid friendly. Minors are welcome in the dining room and outside on the garden patio until close every day. Kids love our board game library, cornhole, and outdoor foosball, and the vintage arcade cabinets are just a quarter per play.
Is The Back Patio dog friendly?
Yes — our garden patio is dog friendly. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome in the outdoor seating area, where there's plenty of room for them to relax while you eat and drink.
Where can I play pinball in Northeast Portland?
The Back Patio in Cully has 6 pinball machines: Iron Man, Demolition Man, World Cup Soccer '94, No Fear, Pokémon, and The Simpsons Pinball Party — plus vintage arcade cabinets (Golden Tee, Asteroids, Donkey Kong, Super Pac-Man, Defender, Asteroids Deluxe), outdoor foosball, and a board game library. Pinball runs $0.50–$1.00 per play, arcade cabinets $0.25.
What food carts are at The Back Patio?
The Back Patio hosts a rotating lineup of food carts on the garden patio, plus an in-house kitchen serving Meat & Cheese boards, Salmon Lox, and Pretzel Sticks. Do you take reservations?
No, The Back Patio operates on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not take reservations. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available, including our garden patio with fire tables.
What drinks do you serve?
We are a tap-house and wine bar serving craft beer on tap and in cans, wine by the glass (red, white, rosé, sparkling), premium sake, cider, and a variety of non-alcoholic options including NA beer, kombucha, craft soda, and iced tea.
What events do you host?
Vinyl Night every Monday 6–8 PM, Rip City Trivia every other Tuesday 7 PM–close, Karaoke every other Thursday 6–8 PM (starting July 30), live music Fridays and Saturdays 6–8 PM, and Bingo on the last Wednesday of every month. Do you have vegetarian options?
Yes! Our cheese-only board is vegetarian-friendly, and many of our food carts have vegetarian and vegan options. Just ask any vendor about their offerings.
Is there parking?
Yes, we have free street parking available on NE Cully Blvd and in the surrounding area. We also have bike racks on-site.
Does The Back Patio have outdoor seating?
Yes — our garden patio is the heart of The Back Patio experience. It features fire tables, a gas fire pit, cornhole, and plenty of outdoor seating surrounded by greenery, covered and heated so it stays cozy year-round.
Can I book The Back Patio for a private event?
Yes! The Back Patio is available for private events through Peerspace. Visit our Peerspace listing or email us at info.thebackpatio@gmail.com to discuss your event. Our space is perfect for birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and all major credit cards. All prices are in USD.
How much do the games cost to play?
Games are coin-op: classic arcade cabinets are $0.25 per play, and pinball machines run $0.50–$1.00 per play depending on the machine. Bring quarters or ask at the bar.
When did The Back Patio open?
The Back Patio opened on November 15, 2025, after two and a half years of preparation. We're located in a former cannabis shop/dispensary that owners Mike and Jennifer Usselman transformed into a cozy, family-friendly gathering place.
